Project Overview
The Port Klang Sectional Pipeline Replacement (PINOCCHIO) Project involved the replacement and upgrading of critical pipeline sections to enhance operational reliability and long-term integrity. The scope of work was executed in compliance with industry standards and client technical specifications, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Scope of Work
The project scope included:
- Perform pipeline replacement works for NPS 36 PGU2S2 pipeline at KP 241 due to leakage at the previous Hot Tap location.
- Address integrity issues resulting from the leak that occurred during the removal of Hot Tap Machine (HTM) in 2021.
- Implement Hot-Tap methodology at KP 235 to facilitate pipe spool replacement at KP 241.
- Execute replacement works without disrupting gas flow to customers.
- Ensure minimal operational downtime and maintain continuous service availability.
Results
The project was successfully completed on schedule with zero major safety incidents. The upgraded pipeline section now meets current integrity requirements and enhances system reliability for long-term operations.
